PROFESSIONAL BIO
Kay Louise Aldred has been teaching and working pastorally since 1996. She graduated from Durham University with a BA (hons) First-Class in Theology in 1995 and went on to study a PGCE at York St John the following year. She taught and held Pastoral and Curriculum Leadership positions in Education between 1996 and 2016, apart from during a short career break when she gave birth to three children and completed a Counselling qualification and MA in Theology.
Kay is a change agent who visions, researches, writes and teaches. She catalyses individual, institutional and collective evolution - through education, embodiment and creative meaning making - via insights and approaches which combine metacognition, intuition and instinct.
As a trauma-informed teacher and facilitator, Kay offers online and in-person courses, workshops and resources in a variety of settings, including retreats, schools and the NHS, focused on interconnected insights and approaches for wellbeing via meaning making and embodiment.
As a lifelong learner, since 2016 Kay has immersed herself in exploring and experiencing meaning making and wellness modalities and expanded her skillset, qualifying as a Wellbeing Coach, Yin Yoga Teacher, Somatic Educator, Trainer and Advanced Practitioner in Energy and Shamanic Medicine and Sacred Feminine Leader.
Kay focuses her efforts on accessible resources that reduce barriers to wellbeing, increasing inclusion to exploring spirituality, meaning making and embodiment.
She is an advocate for safe, nervous system and neurodivergent friendly structures in education, health and sharing spaces, alongside the creation of structures for peer support and collaboration amongst action orientated, visionary professionals and committed change agents. Those currently bridging old and new paradigms.
Finally, Kay is autistic and passionate about increasing awareness of the strengths of neurodivergence. She is an Associate at Neurodiverse Connection, a neurodivergent-led, Community Interest Company, set up to improve support and outcomes for the neurodivergent population and which specialises in providing a translation service between people of all neurotypes.

Kay co-edited three Girl God Anthologies in 2022 - Re-Membering with Goddess: Healing the Patriarchal Perpetuation of Trauma, The Crone Initiation and Invitation: Women speak on the Menopause Journey and Rainbow Goddess - Celebrating Neurodiversity. She is co-editing another Girl God Anthology, Pain Perspectives: Finding Meaning in the Fire, scheduled publication 2023.
In addition Kay is writing her own books. Mentorship of Goddess: Growing Sacred Womanhood was published June 2022. Making Love with the Divine: Sacred, Ecstatic, Erotic Experiences was published in February 2023 and Somatic Shamanism: Your Fleshy Knowing as The Tree of Life is scheduled for June 2023.
